We would like to take a moment to reflect on the support of  Waverly Council for their commitment to community arts and performance over the last 2 years, 2 of the most trying years anyone could imagine, but with heartfelt thanks to Waverly Council we are back!

In 2022 we are back in full swing embarking on another year of our favorite epic works!  We would love to see you at our concerts and if you would like to play or sing please reach out to us, especially violinists and tenor singers.

Upcoming Concert Dates for 2022

10 April 2022, 2pm, Mary Immaculate Church, 45a Victoria Street, Waverley – featuring Beethoven 3 the Eroica, an heroic new beginning and welcome back to live music after a tumultuous 2 years. We are joined by the incredibly talented Leonard Weiss, one of the young up and coming Australian conductors about to make their mark on the international stage.

4 July 2022 2pm, Mary Immaculate Church, Mozart Violin Concerto 5 “Turkish” Mendelsohn Symphony 1, soloist David Carreon, still studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Conductor Omid Moheb Zadeh.

18 September 2022 2pm Mary Immaculate Church the orchestra and choir will be joining forced under the baton of the choir director Omid Mohed Zadeh to perform Haydn’s Nelson Mass, one of the greatest of Haydn’s choral works and an opportunity for local singers to be involved. Please reach out to us if you want to take part. The performance will also feature 4 wonderful young solo singers from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

23 October 7.30pm Sydney Town Hall, Celebration Sing Out with TOPS orchestra and massed schools and community choir. Annual event to raise funds for the Music Therapy Unit of Westhead Children’s hospital. East Sydney Chamber Orchestra and Choir members will be joining this annual event under the baton of Mal Hewitt OA.

6 November 2pm Mary Immaculate Church, Brahms Symphony 1, one of the mightiest classic symphony’s picking up the mantel from Beethoven. If you are a local string player looking to take part in this bucket list event let us know.

Welcome to the website of  Eastern Sydney Chamber Orchestra & Choir – a not-for-profit community organisation based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

The orchestra specialises in early classical music such as Haydn and Beethoven. On occasion the orchestra expands its musical horizons to include repertoire from the Romantic period and beyond, offering a diverse musical experience for local players and audiences alike. The orchestra rehearses Tuesday evenings in Waverley and perform four major concerts each year. The orchestra consists of a friendly group of string and wind musicians from all over Sydney.

The choir consists of a diverse group of singers performing music of different genres such as church, Baroque and classical. The choir rehearses Monday evenings in Waverley and is also led by conductor Susannah Pinter.
